Weekly progress updates in my journey towards becoming a solopreneur. Designed to keep me on track, motivated, and accountable.
Good progress made on the blog this week. Enjoying it and looking forward to getting that live with a few initial posts.
This I decided to pivot away from the newsletter idea. I'm now pursuing the idea of creating a how to blog to online design and development tools.
I'm starting to sour of the bike shop newsletter idea. A couple of bike shop people have told me now they want a lot more customisation. I'll keep pushing this for a bit but starting to wonder if time to look elsewhere.
Interesting week - first negative product feedback; how can I spin it to a positive? Short week upcoming so trying to hit it hard early this week!
I am continuing to work on my bike shop newsletter with the aim of offering marketing content options for owners. I recently connected with a bike shop owner in Perth and will be presenting them with a demo email focused on commuter bikes. I am feeling good about my life habits and want to do more exercise in the coming week.
I'm a solopreneur currently working on a monthly email newsletter for bike shops. Made a good connection with Phil Latz, an industry insider who validated my idea that bike owners are a great target market. Goal is to provide high-quality biking content to engage bikers and keep the shop top of mind. This week, I focused on researching the bike shop owner niche and marketing problems. Next week, I'll refine the first email, launch a landing page, and reach out to businesses for feedback.
Getting back on track this week - first month of the year gone already! I feel I've made good progress this week, I've learned a lot about how to research into niches.
I didn't hit my deadline to send this out this week. I should have planned a bit better knowing I was going to be away all weekend at a wedding in Tasmania. This also got me a bit off track with my life habits I'm tracking, and I've ended up a bit sick today.
This week's solopreneur journey update is a little early as I'm heading off today to celebrate my Dad's marriage! He has a lovely new wife and I'm super excited to go visit them, along with my sister's family, for the weekend.
After reading (listening) to Start Small, Stay Small by Rob Walling I determined 2023 is the year I become a solopreneur. These weekly progress reports will keep me accountable towards my goals, and keep me process driven in my approach.
